Wow! It's hard to believe that just two short years ago, we were sitting in the hospital holding our infant baby. It was early in the morning, just after the sun came up (although not such a steamy hot day). We were filled with wonder and love for her right away.
Layla has grown into such a wonderful girl and has brought us endless amounts of joy. She is smart and funny, and a little bit of a rascal. She loves to read and color and play on the playground and 'monkey around'. Her simple awe of life and nature is inspiring and I try to slow down my pace and enjoy the world through her eyes.
Motherhood has certainly proven to be my greatest joy and greatest challenge in life so far. I could not have asked for a better gift. My family has provided boundless support, flying here often to visit us, help with the house, and shower us with love and attention. My husband has been a steadfast partner, although it isn't always easy. We truly are very blessed in this life and we try not to take that for granted.
