Our friends were lamenting how rarely they get a night away from their son (only 3 nights in 4.5 years) and so we (I) offered to take him overnight. They had a black-tie event in the city and planned to stay downtown overnight.
They handed Tyler over at one of the most sugar-laden birthday parties I have ever been to, and took off! Fortunately, the party was in the gym at school so the kids got some good running in. We were invited for dinner at another friends' house and after a short stop at home, we were off to invade someone else's playroom.
Spaghetti dinner was a big hit, and the kids actually went to bed pretty easily. Layla was not as well behaved as her friend, not liking to compete even more for her parents' attention than usual. Sunday morning we went to breakfast and spent the morning playing outside in the leaves and riding bikes on the driveway.
Spaghetti dinner: Adelynn, Tyler and Layla
Early pancake breakfast (thanks to daylight savings)!
I did get some pitying looks flying solo with my 'twins' and baby.
Jayden loves breakfast too!
You can see they seated us a safe distance from other diners.
Leaf jumping!
