Our first project is going to be updating the 2 kids' bedrooms and remodeling the secondary bathroom. These rooms, along with the playroom, are contained on one side of the house. This makes it a little easier to compartmentalize the projects and close off the messy part.
We had some concerns about water damage in the ceilings due to the roof leaking which is why we chose to start here. This led us to demo some drywall, and then more until the rooms were back to their bare bones. Starting fresh in the bedrooms allows us to adjust a few framing issues and re-insulate those rooms. Also, we can be assured that there is no mold (YAY!).
Initially, we thought we would leave the bathroom as is for some time and do the master bath first. After our inspection and the notice of leaking pipes we would have to replace we re-thought our plan. It didn't seem to make sense to spend money replacing pipes underneath and leave the 40-year-old bathroom in place. Here are some pics of our progress.
