This weekend we are headed to GB for cousin Kendra's wedding and next weekend is Rachel and Victor's wedding. All this [pending] hoopla encouraged Jason and I to finally rid Layla of her mullet. Her hair has definitely grown in over the last few months, but the hair she was born with (the stuff that didn't fall out) was getting pretty long and scraggly. Plus, now her hair was getting in her eyes and generally looking unkempt.

KidSnips is the hot spot for haircuts in Deerfield. This is a racket, plain and simple. It's part 'salon' and part toy store. Your child gets to sit in a chair designed like some kind of car or truck and watch elmo.........for all of 6 minutes. And that might be overestimating the time. She got a bob, "layers", and new bangs. No fussy required. It was actually pretty painless except for the paying part.

Her stylist assures us that now her hair will grow in fuller and healthier, which I do believe. It looks better.

She did get a certificate for her first haircut, a lock of hair in a little baggie, a balloon and a toy from the 'treasure chest' (she could also have had a lollipop, which we nixed). Apparently, their toy business is booming thanks to those parent who think aforementioned stuff is not enough of a bribe for a 6 minute hair cut.
