Let's Play Ball

Groupon is a wonderful thing. Rachel, Victor, Jason, Layla and I got tickets for the Red Sox v. White Sox game held yesterday to celebrate Jason's Birthday. (Kids are free up to 36" tall, thank goodness Layla made the cut (34.5")!) Credit goes to Rachel and Victor of scheming up this particular plan.

We got a sweet deal including all you can eat and drink at the [air conditioned] Patio for 2 hours ahead of the game. In case you haven't been to a game lately it's darn expensive to drink ($7.25 for a watered down Miller Lite) and eat ($4.25 for soggy hot dog). So we ate a lot of hot dogs (and had a few beers too), which saved us from the gluttony of the concession stand.

Victor can assemble a pretty good Chicago dog, even though he's from Boston.
(Ignore that ketchup and pretend it's tomato.)

Yummy! Layla's first ballpark hot dog.

Oooh lordy, it's HOTTTTTTTTTT (about 95). We took Layla's clothes off and rain through the "rain room" a bunch of times.

We relocated to seats up a little higher above the center field. Typically this section is reserved for private parties, but it was pretty much vacant. There was even a small patch of shade!

The pending marriage of a Red Sox fan and White Sox fan, can it survive?
It was a real test of the years to come........

Passed out, in a cute new hat

In case you were wondering, the Red Sox won. Victor was happy, Jason was not. But no fights broke out (at least between the two of them). The slew of Red Sox fans sitting around us got a little rowdy and a couple got kicked out. Thankfully we watched this from our new perch up high on the party deck. I am in a little trouble with the Twins fans back home...... that should have been her first game!
